Master & PhD Programmes in Regenerative Medicine in Germany

During the last decades Germany increased its expertise in regenerative medicine, especially focusing the translation from findings in basic research into therapies for patients. Recently, six research centres in Berlin, Dresden, Hannover, Leipzig, Rostock and Stuttgart have been established to concentrate scientific excellence in research and to develop clinical applications. Besides many federal states developed networks, centres, clusters and other infrastructures with a focus on stem cell research and regenerative medicine.  Many of these research centres and institutions offer various educational programmes for undergraduates as well as graduates.

This site offers an overview and first informations regarding these international programmes which are all run in English. For further informations interested students are asked to contact the respective institutions. Please note that the DAAD also offers information and support to interssted scientists in many cities troughout India.

Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies - BSRT, Berlin

The Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies (BSRT) offers outstanding interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for clinical, biological, and engineering scientists working in the field of Regenerative Medicine who want to look beyond their research and aim at translating their scientific discoveries into clinical applications. Biologists will learn engineering aspects and clinical applications, engineers get insights into biological processes and clinical problems, and medical students will receive special training in engineering and natural sciences.

Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering- DIGS-BB, Dresden

The DIGS-BB Graduate School combines basic biological research with clinical application and bioengineering. It offers graduates of medicine, science and engineering three different doctoral programmes: Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology - Regenerative Medicine - Nanobiotechnology - Nanobiotechnology, Biophysics and Bioengineering.

Hannover Biomedical Research School - HBRS, Hannover

A novel programme "Regenerative Sciences" started in October 2007. Thsi programme is designed and implemented by the cluster of Ecellence "From Regenerative Biology to Reconstruvtive Therapy" REBIRTH. The PhD study course is designed for students with an  MSc or ecquivalent diploma in (Veterinary) Medicine, (Molecular) Biology, (Bio-) Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Physics.
